Hunter Responds to Hurricane Katrina Victims with Partnership Donation Program to American Red Cross
Hunter, through its vast network of professional contractors across the entire United States and Canada, is arranging the monetary donation program, with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Donations are being administered through the company’s Preferred Contractor Program, which includes North American customers only. Company CEO Richard Hunter called on business partners nationwide to join in recovery efforts for the entire area. “With a disaster of this magnitude, we all need to step up and contribute to what will surely be one of the largest and most significant recovery efforts in our nation’s history,” said Hunter. “Donating through organizations such as the American Red Cross ensures that people get the things they need most to help them through this very difficult time.” Monetary donations to the American Red Cross enable the agency to procure specific items most needed for an effective and coordinated disaster relief efforts in Louisiana, Mississippi and other affected areas following the widespread devastation. The agency is currently operating more than 250 shelters across seven states, providing a safe haven for nearly 42,000 evacuees – many who have been left homeless by Katrina. The first priority is meeting the urgent, critical needs of those people, which include providing emergency shelter, food and water. Contributions to the Disaster Relief Fund may be sent to your local American Red Cross chapter or to the American Red Cross, P. O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013. Internet users can make a secure online contribution by visiting www.redcross.org. Hunter is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of irrigation equipment for turf, landscape and golf. |
