Hunter introduced the Smart Valve Controller (SVC) as a way to provide automatic operation of an irrigation system without the need for direct electrical connection.

Of course, not every situation that calls for battery-operated control deals with an area the size of a single zone. That’s why we’re expanding our SVC line to accommodate the needs of multiple-zone areas with our new 4-station version.

Both models of the SVC mount to a valve solenoid quickly and easily, without screws, drills or wires. The unit’s solid construction is well equipped to handle the harsh environment of a valve box, as the rugged product is fully submersible – and resists all moisture intrusion in water, mud and debris – as deep as 12 feet.

Simple to program, the SVC boasts an easy to read and understand LCD display with no buttons or knobs. Up to nine start times are available to accommodate the demands of watering schedules needed for irrigating steep slopes with low infiltration rates or establishing new turf.

The SVC is exceptionally reliable, operating off a single 9-volt battery guaranteed to provide power through a full season. The unit’s handy battery life status indicator and LCD display provide a readout of the current battery level.
