SRC Plus: New Look, New Features, Same Great Value in a Residential ControllerWhen Hunter introduced the Simple & Reliable Series of products in the mid-1990s, the goal was to provide a line of irrigation components that combined quality, features and economy for residential projects. The SRC controller addressed all those needs and became a hit with contractors. But that didn’t mean there wasn’t any room for improvement. After all, Hunter is always striving to make things better and the SRC was no exception. That said, Hunter is proud to announce the introduction of an SRC controller that’s better than ever. Presenting the SRC Plus.
Better Than EverThe new SRC Plus offers all the same great features and benefits that made the affordable controller so popular in the first place. But what’s making news about this controller are the new things this enhanced product has to offer. First off, the SRC Plus has an entirely new look. The controller itself has been streamlined and modernized, with a sleek, curved front panel. The panel also has a new, more attractive color scheme. And the cabinet is more sturdy and durable. “The input that we got from contractors out in the field was that our controller wasn’t as aesthetically pleasing as it could be,” said Jeff Kremicki, Hunter controller product manager. “And aesthetics are important when the controller is going to be visible when it’s mounted. We listened to what contractors said appeals to them and revamped the appearance of the SRC to make it much more contemporary.” But it’s not all style, there’s substance as well. “We didn’t just set out to make a more attractive controller,” added Kremicki. “We also wanted to enhance the functionality of the unit. So we added more features that contractors were asking for. That’s why the name change to SRC Plus.” One of the biggest additions to the SRC Plus is automatic short circuit protection. When a short circuit is detected on a station, instead of blowing a fuse which would shut down the entire system, SRC Plus will skip over that station and continue to water the rest of the zones in the program. Another notable addition is non-volatile memory, or the ability to keep all programs in memory without a backup battery. Program information is held indefinitely, providing excellent insurance against unreliable power. One other newly added feature to SRC Plus is One Touch Manual Start and Rapid Advance. This feature allows the user to take fewer steps to activate stations, making it perfect for running a quick cycle when extra watering is needed or when wanting to scroll through the stations to inspect the system. In addition, the SRC Plus is compatible with Hunter’s ICR long range remote control. The ICR is single unit that can be carried from job to job and used to access dozens of different irrigation systems, making it ideal for contractors who install and service tract housing projects. All the Good Stuff’s Still HereWith SRC Plus you get a controller that provides not only the proven track record of Hunter quality and reliability, but also some of the features one might assume are only available on high-priced units. Dial programming and a large display with easy program entry for installers and end users. Three programs with multiple start times to accommodate repeat watering requirements. A 365-day calendar that provides maximum flexibility and the ability to handle such special needs as odd/even watering restrictions without monthly reprogramming hassles. A bypass that boasts a quick override of the rain sensor (and no separate switch is required). A large wiring compartment terminal strip that gives ample space to work and makes installation fast and easy. Plus, optional customization kits for five languages besides English. Come see how much we’ve packed into our “economical” controller. The SRC Plus is available in 6- or 9-station versions, is designed for indoor mounting, and is available at your Hunter distributor today. |
