Use Dual to Convert The I-Core to A Cutting Edge Two-Wire Controller

DUAL is Hunter’s innovative two-wire plug-in for the I-Core controller. Designed to bring the convenience and efficiency of two-wire technology to all, the DUAL system can operate up to 48 zones via a single pair of wires, at distances up to 7,500 feet (2.3 km). The 48 zones can all be installed on a single path, or divided over multiple paths to take advantage of pipe trenches. Because it only requires two wires, DUAL offers unmatchable savings in labor, wire, and money. Since it’s I-Core compatible, system operators still receive advanced features and benefits like flow monitoring, quick system overview access, a factory-installed SmartPort®, six language capability, and a bold, graphic display. Dual decoders come in one and two-station versions. Aptly named Dual-1 and Dual-2, the decoder choices ensure any I-Core Dual system is customizable to the needs of any installation.

The DUAL Decoder System starts with the I-Core controller and adds the benefits of a two-wire decoder system.

Programmable Decoders [2]

Field programmability means no lengthy serial numbers to enter in the controller, and no time lost re-programming decoder assignments after a controller change. Each decoder is programmed with its actual station (valve) numbers for simplicity and reliability. Decoders may be re-programmed at any time if desired.

Wireless Programming with ICD-HP [3]

All Hunter decoders feature wireless programming and diagnostic access from the ICD-HP handheld programmer. Patented technology allows programming and diagnostics through the housing of the decoder, without removing a single wire or waterproof connector. Program, operate, and diagnose decoders in-place in field valve boxes.

Color-Coded ID Wire [4]

Hunter’s unique jacketed decoder wire is high-strength, durable, sunlight protected, and part of the integrated lightning management system. Twisted pair conductors are color-coded for decoder system connections, and the outer jackets can be uniquely color-coded to organize field wire runs and assist in future wire tracking. Tough PE (polyethylene) jacket protects wire from sharp rocks and exposure to UV rays. Available in two standard wire gauges for different length requirements.

Waterproof Connectors Included [5]

Each Hunter decoder includes 2 DBRY-6 waterproof connector kits, UL listed to 600V direct burial. Only the best connectors will do in the critical two-wire path, but there is no need to go shopping for them separately. Suitable for all sizes of ID Wire connections.

Solar Sync Delay [6]

Solar Sync Delay allows the installer to specify a number of days before automatic weather adjustment from the Solar Sync sensor begins, as well as a global percentage to use during the delay period. This allows a period of non-adjusted irrigation for grow-in or plant establishment purposes, without requiring a return visit to the site to enable the Solar Sync water saving feature.
