IDS Surge Protection Technology Carries Over to the AGC
The IDS was a Hunter commercial field controller, it was sunset in 2006. The IDS was replaced by the AGC, both were developed as a more versatile solution for the same applications. When the IDS first hit the Golf and Sports Field market in 2002 field controllers mostly needed one thing, durability. Open areas that are common on Golf courses and Sports fields are heavily prone to lightning strikes and bad weather. The surge protection offered in the IDS system was hard to beat, this surge protection technology still exists in the VSX, ACC and AGC controllers. Replaceable components also made maintenance on the IDS system easy and economical.
