X-Core - Setting Watering Day Schedule

Setting Specific Days of the Week to Water

Step 1

Turn the dial to the WATER DAYS position.

Step 2

The display will show the last program selected (A, b, or C). You can switch to another program by pressing the  PRG button. The display will show either a flashing symbol above "MO" or the "MO" will be flashing.

Step 3

If the symbol above "MO" is flashing, the controller will display the seven days of the week (MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU). Each day will have  icon or  icon above the day. The icon would represent an "on" water day, while icon would represent an “off” watering day. The controller may also display ODD or EVEN. If the "MO" is flashing, the controller has been programmed using the Interval Mode. With the icon flashing above specific day, press the the plus (+) to select day to water. Press the minus (-) button to cancel watering for specific day. After press the plus (+) or minus (-) buttons, the cursor automatically advances to the next day. After selecting all days to water (or not water) the cursor will be flashing above "MO".

Selecting Odd or Even Days to Water

This feature uses numbered day(s) of the month for watering instead of specific days of the week (odd days: 1st, 3rd, 5th, etc.; even days: 2nd, 4th, 6th, etc.).

NOTE: The 31st of any month and February 29th are always “off” days if Odd watering is selected.

Step 1

Press the arrow (>) until the icon and ODD appears on the display.  If odd day watering is desired, turn the dial back to the run position.

Step 2

If even day watering is desired, press minus (-) button once. The icon and EVEN will be displayed. You can move back and forth from ODD to EVEN by pressing the minus button.

Selecting Interval Watering

With this option, you can select interval watering from 1 to 31 days. This feature is convenient if you want to have a more consistent watering schedule without having to worry about the day of the week or the date. The interval you select is the number of days between watering including the water day (e.g; a 2-day internal wold be every other day).

IMPORTANT: When using Interval Watering programming, it is best to leave all days set ON with no icon over any day. If the interval falls on a no water day, that day will not water and the interval count down will start over again.  For more information on skipping a certain day when using interval mode, use the instructions in EVENT DAYS.

Step 1

Press the arrow (>) until the icon appears on the display. The number 1 will be flashing on the display. This represents the number of days between watering. "1" indicates watering every day, while "2" indicates watering every other day. In Interval mode, you have the option of watering up to once every 31 days. The Interval watering schedule appears on the display.

Step 2

Press the the plus (+) or minus (-) button to select the number of days between watering days (from 1 to 31 days). This is called the interval.

When the interval starts depends upon what time of the day you set the interval and what time you set the start time. The X-Core does not show you days left on Interval.

If you set the interval AFTER the start time has passed, the irrigation will start after the number of days has past.

If you set the interval BEFORE the start time, the irrigation will start that day and then start the interval day cycle.

For example:

If your start time is 5am, and you set the interval at 9am, and you have a 4 day interval, the irrigation will not run for 4 days, then every 4 days after that.

If your start time is 10am, and you set the interval at 9am, and you have a 4 day interval, the cycle will start at 10am, and then every four days after that.

Selecting Event Day(s)

This feature allows you to program a No Water Day(s). This feature is useful to inhibit watering on specific day(s). For example, if you always mow the lawn on Tuesdays, you could designate Tuesday as a No Water Day so that you are not mowing wet grass.

Step 1

Turn the dial to the WATER DAYS position.

Step 2

Enter an interval watering schedule as described on Selecting Interval Watering.

Step 3

After programming the Interval Days, press the arrow (>) once and the "MO" will be flashing. Use the arrow (>) button until the cursor is at the day of the week you wish to set as a No Water Day.

Step 4

Press the minus (-) button to set this day as a no water day. The icon will illuminate over this day. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all desired event day(s) are off.

NOTE: You also have the option in the interval watering schedule to program Odd or Even days off.
