A controller with a partial or blank display usually has damage to an electronic component on the internal circuit board. Normally this type of damage cannot be repaired. If the controller was installed outside be sure that the door remains closed completely when left unattended. Moisture intrusion is one of the more common reasons this problem may occur.

The "NO AC" or "Blank" display is a diagnostic message telling you that the controller has stopped receiving AC power. For the "NO AC" message, the controller is most likely running on the power supplied by the backup battery.

Check the power source by plugging a lamp or radio into the wall outlet to verify there is power at the outlet. If your controller is not plugged into a wall outlet, the power source is hardwired.

There are a number of reasons why the sprinklers may not come on from the automatic program. Assuming the controller will run the zones from the controller manually, you most likely have a programming issue.  Below are a few possible causes to the watering cycle not starting:

Pop-up sprinklers require water pressure to “pop up", a broken irrigation pipe or a worn sprinkler wiper seal can cause a loss of water pressure.

To determine whether or not your pressure needs to be assessed or replacement parts may be necessary follow these couple steps.

Here are some common reasons why a pop-up sprinkler may stay stuck up:

  • Debris in the pop up body
  • The riser is damaged
  • The riser seal is worn

To fix this:

  1. Unscrew the body cap
  2. Pull out the sprinkler assembly
  3. Examine the parts
  4. Clean out debris
  5. Replace parts if necessary

Odd or Even day watering schedules are available on all Hunter controllers. This feature allows you to schedule your irrigation to occur on odd or even days of the month.

All Hunter controllers will also allow you to program non-water days. For example, if you mow the lawn on Saturday morning, you may not want the irrigation to come on that day. You can select even watering and Saturday as a non-water day. This way, the controller will water every even day but never on Saturday.
