Aligning the Right Fixed Side of Arc

The right side of the arc can be realigned to avoid wet walkways or a dry turf area. One way to realign the right stop is to turn the whole sprinkler body assembly and the fitting below. This may require temporary removal of the surrounding soil.

Another way to reset the right side of the arc is to unscrew the body cap and remove the internal assembly from the body.

Arc Adjustment

Adjustable heads are preset to approximately 180 degrees. The PGP-ADJ is adjustable from 40-360 degrees. The PGP Ultra is adjustable from 50-360 degrees. Sprinklers may be adjusted with water on or off. It is recommended that initial adjustments be made before installation. Note: Reference illustration above for arc adjustment socket location.

Hunter rotary sprinklers operate on a “gear drive” system. When in operation, water turns a small turbine in the base of the sprinkler, which drives a series of gears that cause the head to rotate. The Hunter gear drive mechanism is sealed from dirt and debris. Age, excessive pressure, or poor water quality may eventually allow particles of contamination to enter the gear drive.

If the sprinkler is no longer rotating and the water flow coming out of the sprinkler has decreased, you can first try cleaning out the filter by removing the pop-up assembly from the main body.

Hunter rotors have replaceable riser seals that may wear out over time. Sandy soils, sunken heads, or extremely hot and cold temperatures may also cause a seal to wear out prematurely. The riser seal is available as a single replacement part (P/N 181500) or replacement kit which includes 10 seals (P/N 253400).

Production of the G-Type rotor was discontinued 14 years ago, though many are still in use today. If a G-Type rotor needs to be replaced, the PGP-ADJ or PGP-Ultra is the current equivalent replacement.
