State Regulations

Hunter Pro-Spray PRS is the first EPA WaterSense certified spray body solution to legislation mandating pressure-regulation for sprays implemented in several states across the US.

  • In Maryland starting January 1, 2024, spray sprinklers offered for sale must include an integral pressure regulator that meets the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0.
  • In New York, spray sprinklers made on or after June 26, 2023 are required to meet the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0, and be listed on the CA Modern Appliance Efficiency Database.
  • In Maine spray sprinklers made on or after January 1, 2023 must include an integral pressure regulator that meets the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0.
  • In New Jersey spray sprinklers made on or after January 1, 2023 must include an integral pressure regulator that meets the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0.
  • In Oregon spray sprinklers made on or after January 1, 2023 must include an integral pressure regulator that meets the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0.
  • In Rhode Island spray sprinklers made on or after January 1, 2023 must include an integral pressure regulator that meets the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0.
  • In Washington, D.C. starting March 15, 2022, spray sprinklers offered for sale must include an integral pressure regulator that meets the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0.
  • In Massachusetts starting January 1, 2022, spray sprinklers offered for sale must include an integral pressure regulator that meets the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0.
  • In Colorado starting January 1, 2021, spray sprinklers offered for sale must include an integral pressure regulator that meets the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0.
  • In Hawaii starting January 1, 2021, spray sprinklers offered for sale must include an integral pressure regulator that meets the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0. Beginning January 1, 2022, it is prohibited from installing non-compliant spray sprinklers for compensation.
  • In Washington spray sprinklers made on or after January 1, 2021 are required to include an integral pressure regulator and meet the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0.
  • In California, spray sprinklers made on or after October 1, 2020 are required to meet the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0, and be listed on the CA Modern Appliance Efficiency Database.
  • In Vermont starting July 1, 2020, spray sprinklers offered for sale must include an integral pressure regulator that meets the criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies, Version 1.0.

Look for the EPA WaterSense Certification logo on the boxes of Pro-Spray PRS spray sprinkler bodies.

 

Look for the product date code on the Pro-Spray cap for compliance to CA and WA state rules.

  • California requires pressure regulation for Pro-Spray products manufactured on or after October 1, 2020 (Q3/2020)
  • Washington requires pressure regulation for Pro-Spray products manufactured on or after January 1, 2021 (Q1/2021)
