If the Rain Sensor or Freeze Sensor is preventing system operation, SENSOR OFF will be displayed on the controller’s display. Simply move the Bypass switch on the controller to BYPASS and the Solar Sync’s Rain and Freeze Sensor will be bypassed. This allows you to operate your system. The Solar Sync will continue to make adjustments to STATION RUN TIMES. The controller’s Rain Sensor switch should be in the ACTIVE position for the Rain Sensor and Freeze Sensor to interrupt watering during rainy and/or freezing conditions.
NOTE: If you want to bypass the seasonal adjustment portion (run times automatically changing) of the Solar Sync Sensor, you would need to verify if the controller has Solar Sync position on the control dial or a Solar Sync module is installed.
See each section below for instructions.
X-Core and Pro-C controllers have a Solar Sync Delay feature. The delay is only accessible after the installation of the Solar Sync. The Solar Sync Delay feature allows the user to postpone seasonal adjustment changes from being made by Solar Sync for up to 99 days.
While the Solar Sync is active, the Solar Sync will continue to collect and store data.
While Solar Sync Delay is active, the Solar Sync will continue to gather weather information and calculate the Seasonal Adjust Value. The updated seasonal adjust will be applied once the Solar Sync Delay days reach 00.
If your Hunter controller is older and has the Solar Sync module installed, you can bypass the sensor's part that changes the run times.
The controller will now disregard the automatic Seasonal Adjustment changes and work as a normal Rain/Freeze sensor.
